How these numbers are generated
Every fire service in the directory has its recruitment portal scraped directly — there is no human curation step between a service publishing a vacancy and Bluewatch counting it. Each listing is classified by Claude to filter generic office and admin postings out of the operational role counts. The numbers on this page are computed in SQL on each page request and cached for one hour.
